Philadelphia, PA, February 10, 2003—Being a parent can be one of the greatest challenges a person can face. To help parents make the best choices for their family,
Albert Einstein Medical Center is offering free parenting classes. Below is a list of on-going classes, which are held at
5501 Old York Road. To register, call 1-800-EINSTEIN.
Parent/Child Play Group
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon
Play is important! Do arts and crafts, nutritional activities, dance and movement and other play activities with your child.
All activities promote positive interactions between parent and child. Call Julia Mitchell at 456-4924 to register.
Prenatal Parenting Class
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Learn about the best things you can do during your pregnancy to help ensure a healthy baby. Topics include nutrition, breastfeeding
and family planning. Call Julia Mitchell at 456-4924 to register.
Parenting Support Group for Adults
Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Tuesdays from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
Saturdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Open to parents ages 20 and older, the group offers an opportunity for parents to share stories and support each other. Guest
speakers discuss topics such as family planning. Parking is free and refreshments are served. Children must be accompanied
by a parent. Call Julia Mitchell at 456-4924 to register. Monday and Tuesday classes are held in the Paley conference room
and Saturdays in Lifter 1612.
Parenting Support Group for Teens
Tuesdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Open to parents ages 19 and younger, the group covers parenting "one step at a time." Topics are geared towards teen parents.
Parking is free and refreshments are served. Children must be accompanied by a parent. Call Julia Mitchell at 456-4924 to
register.
