
Albert Einstein Medical Center Names New Director of Endovascular Surgery
Philadelphia, PA, September 30, 2003—Mark Kahn, MD, has joined Albert Einstein Medical Center as its new director of endovascular surgery. He will see patients
at Einstein Medical Center’s Klein Professional Building, 5501 Old York Road, and at Einstein Center One, 9880 Bustleton Avenue.
As a board certified vascular surgeon, Dr. Kahn brings years of experience to his new position. He most recently served as
the director of endovascular surgery and as an associate professor of surgery and radiology at Jefferson Medical College.
He is one of the most experienced surgeons in the city in endograft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Dr. Kahn has participated as the principle or co-principle investigator in a number of funded studies. In 2000, he was approved
as a surgeon for a National Institutes of Health-sponsored trial investigating the use of stents versus open surgery for carotid
artery disease.
Dr. Kahn is a peer reviewer for Circulation, The Journal of the American Heart Association, and has published more than two
dozen papers in other medical journals.
A Philadelphia resident, Dr. Kahn graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1983. He completed a general surgical residency
at the University of Pittsburgh and at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, where he also served
as chief resident. He then finished a two-year stint as a vascular surgical research resident and vascular surgical resident
at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.
