Einstein’s Cancer Center Recognized by Commission on Cancer

Philadelphia, PA, August 14, 2003— Einstein Cancer Center has received the Certificate of Approval from the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. This certificate recognizes the quality of Einstein’s comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer. Only one in four hospitals that treat cancer receive this special approval.

To earn the approval, the Einstein Cancer Center underwent rigorous evaluations and performance reviews. The award of the Certificate of Approval assures patients that Einstein Cancer Center offers state-of-the-art services and equipment; a multispecialty, team approach to treatment; information about clinical trials, education and support; and life-long patient follow-up. To maintain the approval, Einstein Cancer Center will undergo an on-site review every three years.
