Philadelphia, PA, October 15, 2003– Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment has expanded its services to offer outpatient psychotherapy in its behavioral
health program geared exclusively for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and questioning (LGBTQ) adults. Outpatient services
are now offered five days a week at Belmont located at 4200 Monument Road in Philadelphia. Belmont, part of Belmont Behavioral
Health, is the only psychiatric facility in the Delaware Valley with an inpatient behavioral health unit geared specifically
for sexual minorities. “I’m glad that we have outpatient services available since it strengthens the continuity of care that
we can offer our LGBTQ patients,” says David Glassman, PsyD, Director of the program.
To better describe its services, the program has changed its name to Rainbow Haven. It had previously been called Three East
at Belmont. “Our new name Rainbow Haven, was selected by an advisory group comprised of behavioral health specialists and
leaders from the LGBTQ community,” adds Glassman.
Rainbow Haven provides confidential, specialized treatment for people with depression, anxiety, sexual compulsivity, HIV/AIDS-related
and chemical-dependency issues, as well as other behavioral problems. Services include crisis stabilization, comprehensive
evaluations, individual and group therapy, addictions counseling, and gay-sensitive planning for discharge.
Belmont Behavioral Health, part of the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, is one of the largest, most comprehensive behavioral
