
Scott C. Silvestry, MD, Joins Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at
Albert Einstein Medical Center
Philadelphia, PA, December 23, 2004 - Scott C. Silvestry, MD, has joined the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Silvestry
also performs cardiothoracic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Dr. Silvestry received his medical degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his internship,
residency and fellowship at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC, in the Division of General and Thoracic Surgery.
While at Duke University, Dr. Silvestry completed a National Institute of Health (NIH) research fellowship in valvular heart
disease. Dr. Silvestry has dedicated clinical interests in valve repair, surgery for heart failure and arterial coronary
revascularization.
He serves as an Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Division of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery at Jefferson Medical
College of Thomas Jefferson University. He is board-certified in surgery as well as thoracic surgery.
Dr. Silvestry is a fellow of American College of Surgeons, College of Chest Surgeons and Ameican College of Cardiology. He
will perform cardiothoracic surgery at Albert Einstein Medical Center along with three other surgeons who are also on staff
at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. They include: James T. Diehl, MD, Linda J. Bogar, MD, and Daniel
Marelli, MD.
