Always on Call . . . Voices of MossRehab Aphasia Center Hosts Free Lecture for Family Caregivers

PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 21, 2004—The Voices of MossRehab Aphasia Center (VOMAC) welcomes Carol Levine, author of Always on Call…When Illness Turns Families into Caregivers, to Albert Einstein Medical Center, Braemer Building-Sonia Room, 5501 Old York Road, Philadelphia, on Wednesday, May 12, from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Levine, a nationally recognized author, public speaker and Director of the Families and Health Care Project for the Hospital Fund in New York, who, herself, has spent many years caring for a husband who suffered brain damage and quadriplegia following an automobile accident, will discuss the role of family caregivers in today’s society. The presentation will include a look at current healthcare policies as well as provide advice, suggestions and personal insight on the various resources and support available for individuals who find themselves responsible for the full-time care of a family member with a chronic condition, illness or disability.

Established in 1997, VOMAC is a group of volunteers who coordinate fundraising, education and advocacy activities for the MossRehab Aphasia Center. VOMAC is primarily comprised of individuals with aphasia and their families.
