New Hospitality Service Offered At Albert Einstein Medical Center
Philadelphia, PA, January 25, 2005– A new hospitality service is being offered at Albert Einstein Medical Center that provides additional housekeeping services
to patients. A specially-trained employee visits patients in the evening for any late housekeeping needs such as removing
clutter and tidying up. Housekeepers at hospitals usually clean patient rooms once during the day and patients don’t always
see the housekeeper, since they may be asleep or out of the room having tests. The new program means patient rooms are cleaned
once during the day and again in the evening, to help make sure it’s kept clean and orderly. The program also enables the
new employee to have interaction with patients, since she checks to see if they need anything else while she is in their room.
The service is currently offered on four patient floors at the medical center. It will be evaluated after three months and
may be expanded throughout the medical center.
