First “Art From the Heart” Exhibit Held at Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment
Philadelphia, PA, April 11, 2005– An exhibit of artwork created by patients was recently held at Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment. Called “Art
from the Heart,” the exhibit was made up of more than 30 pieces ranging from paintings, drawings and photography to crafts
and poetry. The exhibit was on display in Belmont’s main lobby located at 4200 Monument Road in Philadelphia. It was the
first time a patient art exhibit was held at the facility.
“The purpose of “Art from the Heart” was to acknowledge the strengths and talent of our patients, and we accomplished this
goal and much more,” said Christine Moriconi, PsyD, RNC, a psychotherapist in the Outpatient Addictions Unit at Belmont Center
for Comprehensive Treatment who helped coordinate the exhibit. “It was a community-building activity which brought patients
and staff together for the common goal of the exhibit,” Moriconi adds.
