Albert Einstein Healthcare Network Physicians Recognized as “Top Doctors” by Philadelphia Magazine

Philadelphia, May 24, 2005– A distinguished group of physicians from Albert Einstein Healthcare Network representing a variety of clinical areas, have been recognized as “Top Doctors” by Philadelphia Magazine in its May issue.  An independent research firm surveyed physicians at area hospitals to identify their peers who they consider highly skilled, exceptional doctors.  Extensive screening of the doctor’s educational and professional experience was conducted before final selections were made.

Physicians from Albert Einstein Healthcare Network recognized include:

Arthur Chernoff, MD
Chairman, Division of Endocrinology, Albert Einstein Medical Center
Dr. Chernoff serves as Director of the Gutman Diabetes Institute at Albert Einstein Medical Center and also has a special interest in osteoporosis and thyroid disorders.

Alberto Esquenazi, MD
Chairman, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Albert Einstein Medical Center and Chief Medical Officer, MossRehab

Dr. Esquenazi’s expertise is amputee rehabilitation, mobility evaluation and treatment and polio rehabilitation.

Dr. Mayer’s expertise is in motor control analysis and spasticity management.  He founded MossRehab’s Drucker Brain Injury Center that treats patients with traumatic brain injury.

Santiago J. Munoz, MD
Chairman, Division of Hepatology and Director, Einstein Center for Liver Disease
Dr. Munoz’ expertise is in liver disease and transplantation.  His areas of interest include chronic virus hepatitis, biliary cirrhosis, porphyria and other liver diseases.
