
William J. Gaughan, MD, Joins Einstein Center for Kidney Transplantation
Philadelphia, PA, May 9, 2006– William J. Gaughan, MD, has joined Einstein Center for Kidney Transplantation as a transplant nephrologist. Dr. Gaughan
is a board-certified nephrologist who treats patients after they undergo a kidney transplant.
Dr. Gaughan’s experience includes participation in numerous research studies and clinical trials. He has also authored many
articles that have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals. His special areas of interest include quality of life
issues for the dialysis patient and pregnancy outcomes in female kidney transplant recipients.
Prior to joining Einstein Center for Kidney Transplantation, Dr. Gaughan served on the faculty at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital as Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine. In addition to participating in patient care and teaching, he was Medical
Director of the Ford Road Dialysis Unit.
Dr. Gaughan received his medical degree from Hahnemann University and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine
from Abington Memorial Hospital. He completed a fellowship in nephrology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
