MossRehab Stroke Center is Nationally Recognized for Excellence
Elkins Park, PA, October 10, 2006—MossRehab’s Stroke Center is one of the first rehabilitation facilities in the nation to receive accreditation by the Commission
on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) as a Stroke Specialty Program.
This recognition demonstrates MossRehab’s commitment to provide services that focus on prevention, education, minimizing impairments
and maximizing quality of life for individuals, and their families, following stroke.
CARF, an independent, nonprofit organization whose focus is to ensure the need for quality and the best possible outcomes,
reviews and grants accreditation services nationally and internationally. Its standards are rigorous, so those services that
meet them are among the best available.
“This level of care is a credit to the knowledge and expertise of our clinical staff and to MossRehab, which undergoes continuous
quality improvement to meet accountability standards from all funding sources and referral agencies,” said Ruth Lefton, Chief
Operating Officer, MossRehab.
In addition to the Stroke Specialty accreditation, MossRehab has received its 3-year accreditations for Comprehensive Integrated
Inpatient Rehabilitation Program; Spinal Cord System of Care; Brain Injury Inpatient; Brain Injury Outpatient; Brain Injury
Home and Community-Based; Brain Injury Long-Term Residential; and Brain Injury Vocational programs.
Recognized as a national leader in medical rehabilitation, MossRehab provides high-quality, compassionate medical care for
individuals with physical disabilities. MossRehab offers a wide range of specialized services, including comprehensive programs
for brain and spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation and orthopaedic conditions. MossRehab has two main facilities – MossRehab
