“Small Miracles” Golf Tournament Will Help Children with Autism
Southeastern Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, PA, May 30, 2007 -- The recently held 19th annual “Small Miracles” Golf Tournament sponsored by Albert Einstein Healthcare Network was a success. More than 260 golfers
participated at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, raising
$300,000 to help Albert Einstein Healthcare Network develop a multi-disciplinary diagnostic center for children with autism.
Event chairs were Rick Fine, MD, Chairman of Anesthesiology, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Bill Luterman and Jarrett Wells.
In recent years, the incidence of autism has increased dramatically and many families seeking care and evaluation may have
to wait as long as 18 months for an appointment with a specialist. Einstein’s aim in creating an autism center is to eliminate
this lengthy waiting time and provide families of children affected by autism with a one-stop setting for care and evaluation.
Nineteen years ago, Albert Einstein Healthcare Network created the “Small Miracles” Golf Tournament to ensure that vulnerable
children have access to quality healthcare. Since its inception, this event has successfully raised more than $2 million
and helped restore smiles to many deserving children and their families. In prior years, supporters have helped raise funds
for a variety of asthma, neonatal and pediatric care programs.
