Einstein Shows Commitment to the Health of the Community
Honors Martin Luther King Day with Free Adult Flu Shots and Screenings
Philadelphia, PA, January 14, 2008 -- This year’s theme for the region’s Martin Luther King Day of Service is “Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Healthy Community”
-- a commitment that Albert Einstein Healthcare Network lives every day.
As part of the day’s activities, Einstein will offer free adult flu shots and blood pressure and blood sugar screenings at
Martin Luther King High School, 6100 Stenton Avenue -- the hub of the King Day array of volunteer activities.
Einstein also will highlight its 2007 Community Benefits Report, which details the network’s annual contributions of $17.4
million in free care and services to the poor and underserved; its financial support of worthy community organizations, the
countless hours of volunteer services provided by thousands of Einstein staff, and over $2.4 million in community service
programs.
The report lists the many ways Einstein brings life to its mission to heal by providing exceptionally intelligent and responsive
healthcare and education to the more than 322,000 lives Einstein touches annually.
