New Practice Latest Joint Effort by Einstein-Montgomery Hospital Partnership
Philadelphia, PA, May 15, 2008 ─ As a result of the Einstein-Montgomery Hospital Partnership, Einstein-MHMC Surgery at Montgomery Hospital is bringing advanced surgical techniques, capabilities and new technology to central Montgomery County.
Einstein surgical experts will perform minimally invasive surgery at Montgomery Hospital Medical Center, so that patients
have convenient access to the latest surgical techniques.
Experience, technology and compassion are hallmarks of Einstein, which will be brought to the new practice. The expert surgeons
have acquired additional training in the various facets of their specialty. Combining those skills with Montgomery’s acquisition
of the latest surgical equipment will allow the practice to provide some of today’s most advanced care, thus helping to limit
patient pain, promoting faster recovery and potentially improving surgical outcomes.
Surgical options are available in a broad range of disciplines, including the gastrointestinal tract, pulmonary and thoracic
areas, adrenal glands, spleen and spine.
One of the newest members of the MHMC staff is Alfred C. Trang, MD. Dr. Trang isan Einstein attending surgeon who has extensive experience in all aspects of minimally invasive surgery, including
general and bariatric surgery. Also coming to MHMC is Doraid Jarrar, MD, an attending surgeon in Einstein’s Division of Thoracic Surgery, who has special interests in the surgical care of lung cancer
and minimally invasive pulmonary resections.
Einstein neurosurgeons will continue to practice at MHMC, including Mark J. Kotapka MD, Chairman of the Division of Neurosurgery, who has vast experience in the treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the
brain, including pituitary and cranial base, and Russell Amundson MD who offers microsurgical, stereotactic and spinal procedures. Additional surgeons will be deployed at MHMC throughout the
rest of the year.
