Einstein’s Premier Years Marks 20th Anniversary
Anniversary for Seniors Program Features Music, Food, Fun

Juanita Way, Director of Einstein's Women's Center & Premier Years, poses with Hedy and Nicholas Winter who were honored at
the Premier Years 20th anniversary celebration for their near perfect attendance at Premier Years events.
Philadelphia, PA, June 16, 2008 ─ Hedy and Nicholas Winter are such faithful members of Premier Years, the senior-citizen membership program of Albert Einstein
Healthcare Network, that Mrs. Winter jokes, “I’m almost like a doctor – I can recite the symptoms of many conditions.”
The Winters can make such a claim, even in jest, because as Premier Years members almost since its beginnings 20 years ago,
they have attended most of the free program’s lectures, screenings, special conferences and events. And they’re sure to attend
Premier Years’20th anniversary celebration “Premier Years Walks the Red Carpet” on Sunday, June 22, 2008, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Einstein at Elkins Park Cafeteria, 60 Township Line Road, Elkins Park PA.
The private party will feature music, dancing, lunch, and dessert. Over 100 participants will walk the red carpet and celebrate
with the stars – members, volunteers, Einstein staff and physicians – who’ve contributed to Premier Years.
Hedy Winter is eager to applaud the Premier Years team. “Einstein doctors are the best, I wouldn’t even go any other place,”
she says.
Hedy, 83, and Nicolas, 86, Winter live in Northeast Philadelphia. They rely on Einstein physicians for all their care. Furthermore,
Hedy cites a Premier Year screening four years ago that identified a clogged artery in her carotid in time to avert major
problems. “If I hadn’t attended it, I wouldn’t have known. The doctor heard (throbbing in the carotid). I think it was 95
percent clogged; up to then, my family doctor didn’t even test it. It was very good. My procedure went fine.”
Her husband has undergone heart bypass surgery and had a pacemaker implanted by Einstein physicians as well. Other benefits
of Premier Year membership include:
- Discounts or low prices on prescription drugs
- Free physician referral
- Free health insurance counseling
- Free Premier Years newsletter
- Free senior information referral
For Mrs. Winter, the free lectures and screenings for topics ranging from hearing loss and arthritis to falls risk assessments
and stroke survival tips are the best part of Premier Years membership. “I recommend that anyone go to the lectures and learn
as much as possible, because you definitely need to know as much as possible about your health,” she says.
