Belmont Behavioral Health Expands Child, Teen Program
Outpatient Assessment, Treatment Offered for Children Through Age 18
Philadelphia, PA, September 29, 2008 - Just in time for children struggling with school-based or other life stresses, Belmont Behavioral Health has expanded its
services to include outpatient assessment and treatment services for children through age 18.
“Any negative change in a child’s behavior deserves attention,” says Patricia Kleven, PsyD, Director of Belmont’s Outpatient Mental Health Department. “Of particular concern are those changes that interfere with the
child’s daily functioning.”
Examples include problems sleeping or oversleeping, appetite changes, anger, withdrawal and persistent sadness. “Children
who have been experiencing ongoing behavior problems, and you’ve come to the conclusion that this isn’t a passing phase, will
clearly benefit from a thorough evaluation,” says Michael DeStefano, PhD, who oversees Belmont’s Child and Adolescent inpatient program.
A division of Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Belmont’s services include assessment, family and individual therapy, play
therapy and medication management when appropriate. Each child receives a personalized treatment program by staff who are
highly sensitive to the problems facing today’s children. For more information, call 1-800-220-HELP.
