Navigation    Back to TOP
While using the Einstein site, it is important to understand its three-part navigation scheme:

1. Top and Bottom Navigation Bars (blue)

Navigation along the top and bottom of the page is the same on every page in the site. On each page, you will see a blue navigation bar across the top of the page, and another bar across the bottom. These navigation bars contain links to some of our most popular pages so you can reach them from anywhere in the site.

2. Pulldown Menus (blue text)

There are also two pulldown menus at the top of each page: The “How Can We Help You” pulldown is the main menu of the site. This feature allows you to navigate to all the main sections of our web site. The “Health Topics” pulldown menu is your instant link to information about a variety of health conditions. Wherever you are in the site, you will always see these pulldown menus at the top of your screen.

3. Side navigation (blue)

Each section of the site has a left-side navigation menu that tells you what information is available in that area. So, unlike the top menu, the side menu will change depending on where you are in the site. Whether you need to find a doctor, learn about our residency programs, or apply for a job at Einstein, the side menu bar should help you find what you're looking for.

Site Index    Back to TOP
One way to speed up your search is to bypass the navigation and go straight to our Site Index. Much like a book index, this page is an outline of our entire site, with links to each section. Use the site index to jump straight into your desired topic.

Searching    Back to TOP
In addition to the site index, you can also use our Google™ Search function to find information on the site. The Search page contains helpful tips on searching.

Browsers    Back to TOP
We have designed the Einstein Internet site for use with the most common web browsers. If you would like to update your browser, you may download the latest versions of Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator by using the links below.

Graphics    Back to TOP
Not all computers and connections are created equal. We have designed our web site using small graphics so that pages load quickly. However, if you have a slower computer and/or Internet connection, you may find that our pages load more slowly than you would like. To speed up your surfing, you can turn off your browser's "show pictures" option. We use ALT tags with all of our graphics so you will still be able to navigate the site without images.

Plug-ins    Back to TOP
Most of the content on this web site is viewable through any web browser. However, we do offer some content that may require you to download additional software. These programs are free and generally take only a minute or two to install. We strongly recommend that you download the following plug-ins, since they give you access to content all over the Internet, not just here.

1. Adobe Acrobat Reader
The Einstein web site offers many documents for download as PDF files (Portable Document Format). In order to save these items to your computer for viewing or printing, you will need the Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't have Acrobat Reader, you can download it for free from the Adobe Acrobat web site.

2. Flash
This site also features interactive graphics created in Flash. To view these graphics you need the free Flash viewer. If you do not have the Flash viewer, you can download it for free from the Macromedia web site.
