Appointment Information

Autism

  • AutismEinstein offers diagnostic services and ongoing follow-up for children with autism.

We provide information on how to recognize and respond to the special needs of children with autism and helps parents monitor their child’s learning and development.

    Expert evaluation

The symptoms of autism -- which impact communication, socialization and behavior -- are not always obvious and can be misdiagnosed. Einstein’s team has expertise in identifying symptoms of autism and other developmental disorders.

Because autism affects multiple areas of development, our assessments include the perspectives of more than one type of specialist.

You and your child meet with a team of specialists, all in a single day

During one convenient visit, your child will see the following professionals:

    • Developmental and behavioral pediatrician
    • Child psychologist
    • Nurse practitioner
    • Speech and language pathologist
    • Genetic counselor

You receive a detailed diagnosis and ongoing follow-up

Once the evaluation is complete, Einstein’s autism team creates your child’s individualized diagnosis and proposed treatment plan. In a follow up visit, you will receive detailed feedback on our findings, to include recommendations that can be applied at home and at school, and you can return for periodic appointments to review and assess your child’s ongoing progress.

Language interpreters are available on request

Einstein’s autism team includes a bilingual (Spanish and English) psychologist.

We can also provide spoken language and sign language interpreters. Please request this free service when first contacting our office.
