  • Lisa JablonLisa Jablon, MD, FACS

    As Director of Einstein’s Breast Health Program, Dr. Jablon, a recognized “Top Doc” by Philadelphia Magazine, leads the breast surgical team. Under her leadership, Einstein’s Breast Health Program received national recognition as an Accredited Breast Center by the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Jablon, a gifted surgeon, practices the latest surgical techniques including skin-sparing mastectomy and sentinel node biopsies. Dr. Jablon also serves as the Director of the Genetics Risk Program and helps counsel women who have family histories of breast and ovarian cancer.

     

    Lori JardinesLori Jardines, MD, FACS

    Dr. Jardines has been in practice for more than 20 years and brings a wealth of experience to the breast health team. Dr. Jardines, also recognized as a “Top Doc” by Philadelphia Magazine, specializes in oncoplastic surgical techniques to help her patients achieve the best cosmetic results. Her expert surgical skills and caring, compassionate nature combine to offer patients the best of both worlds.

     

    Robert SomersRobert Somers, MD, FACS

    Dr. Somers, a recognized expert in breast surgery with more than 40 years of experience, believes in treating women as partners in their care because it puts them in control of their own health. Dr. Somers was a pioneer of breast conservation and under his leadership and expertise he created the breast health program at Einstein over 20 years ago. Fellowship trained at Memorial Sloan Kettering and recognized as a“Top Doc” by Philadelphia Magazine, Dr. Somers has devoted his career to treating women with breast cancer and has helped thousands of women.

     

    Ronit SugarRonit Sugar, MD, FACS

    Dr.  Sugar has been in private practice in the Philadelphia area for over 20 years and has extensive experience in breast surgery. Having trained at Einstein, she recently returned to the Breast Health Program, expanding Einstein’s services throughout Montgomery County. Dr. Sugar’s compassion, energy and expertise allow her to provide state-of-the-art surgical care to women while enabling them to maintain their dignity and sense of control.

    Jeniffer ChalfinJennifer Chalfin Simmons, MD, FACS

    Dr. Simmons is Chief of Breast Surgery and Director of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery's Women's Center. With more than 14 years of experience and expertise, Dr. Simmon's goal for women is to lessen the fear and anxiety associated with breast disease while creating the best possible experience for them on their road to wellness.  Recognized as a "Top Doc" by Philadelphia magazine, Dr. Simmons is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.

    Meet Our Radiologists

    Debra Somers CopitDebra Somers Copit, MD

    Dr. Copit, a recognized “Top Doc” by Philadelphia magazine, is a fellowship-trained radiologist who dedicates her practice to breast imaging. As Director of Breast Imaging, she combines the latest technologies with a compassionate, caring approach to ensure that her patients receive the best care. Dr. Copit trains other radiologists to perform breast ultrasound and minimally invasive breast biopsies.

     

    Kelli Brown-PokornyKelli Brown Pokorny, MD

    Kelli Brown Pokorny, MD, is a board-certified radiologist and is fellowship-trained in women’s imaging. Dr. Pokorny received her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, completed her residency and internship at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and completed a Breast Imaging Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.

     

    Armand SaragoviArmand Saragovi, MD

    Armand Saragovi, MD, is a board-certified radiologist specializing in breast imaging. Dr. Saragovi has more than 40 years experience in the radiology field, having also held radiology professorships at several other regional teaching hospitals.

     

    Bahar MoussavianBahar Moussavian, MD

    Dr. Moussavian is a board-certified radiologist specializing in breast and full body imaging. She remains personally committed to treating each and every patient with her fullest attention, respect and dignity, thus strengthening Einstein’s well-known and long-standing quality care in breast imaging.

     

    Susan SummertonSusan L. Summerton, MD

    Dr. Summerton is a board-certified radiologists specializing in gastrointestinal radiology and women’s imaging. She graduated from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed her internship at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, and her radiology residency at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia in Philadelphia. Dr. Summerton is the Director of Medical Student Education for the Department.


    Meet Our Radiation Oncologists

    Lawrence SolinLawrence J. Solin, MD, FACR, FASTRO

    Dr. Solin, Chairman of Radiation Oncology, has devoted his professional career to treating women with breast cancer and has more than 25 years of clinical experience. He is a recognized “Top Doc” by Philadelphia magazine and an expert in the use of radiation therapy after breast conservation treatment for women with early stage breast cancer. He has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally.

     

    Angelica MontesanoAngelica Montesano, MD

    Dr. Montesano began her career as a radiation oncologist more than 30 years ago and has a long standing interest in treating women with breast cancer. She recently received the Physician Partnership Award at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia for demonstrating skills, strengths and competencies to enhance outcomes. She is actively involved in clinical trials to give patients access to the newest and most advanced breast cancer treatments available.


    Meet Our Medical Oncologists

    Ajit DesaiAjit Desai, MD

    One of the founding members of Einstein’s Breast Health Program, Dr. Desai has taught, researched and provided leadership to our program for over 30 years. In 2006, he received the prestigious American Society of Clinical Oncology Clinical Trials Participation Award for his important contributions. He continues to serve as Principal Investigator for Einstein’s clinical trials, facilitating the development of innovative treatments for our patients. Many patients and staff have benefited from his medical care, leadership and research over the years. Dr. Desai is board certified in medical oncology.

     

    Mark MorganstinMark Morginstin, DO

    Dr. Morginstin served as Chief Medical Resident at Einstein, completing his fellowship training in hematology and oncology at the University of Connecticut Medical Center. He is the recipient of numerous military awards, including the Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service from the United States Air Force. Dr. Morginstin is board certified in medical oncology, and a member of national oncology cooperative groups including ECOG and NSABP.

     

    Claudia Mattos DouradoClaudia Mattos C. Dourado, MD

     Dr. Dourado joined the breast health team in 2008. Prior to coming to Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia she completed her fellowship at the Ireland Cancer Center and was an attending physician at Case Western University in Cleveland, OH. She is a member of the hematology oncology division and trains medical residents and fellows. She maintains an active clinical practice, directs tumor board and participates in Einstein’s Clinical Trials Program. Dr. Dourado is board certified in medical oncology. Patients regard Dr. Dourado as a key member of their cancer care team.
