High-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy allows your doctor to better plan your treatment for correct dosage.
Targeting for safer doses. HDR uses small, intense radiation delivered through applicators temporarily placed on specific parts of your body to target the tumor with the correct dosage.
More precise targeting. Your doctor will examine the position and the amount of time for radiation to directly dose the entire tumor without affecting healthy tissue.
HDR is provided on an outpatient basis and can be used to treat various types of cancer including gynecological, lung, and head and neck.
