Lung Cancer Treatment

  • Free Lung Cancer Screening for Those Who Qualify

Lung cancer is deadlier than breast, colon and prostate cancer combined. But it can be cured if detected early.

We offer free CT screenings for those 55 to 79 years old who have smoked a pack or more a day for at least 30 years.

To schedule a lung cancer screening or for more information, call:
    215-456-8188.

Should you need further treatment, Einstein offers one of the most comprehensive centers for evaluation and treatment of lung cancer in the Philadelphia region.

    We treat these pulmonary cancers:

    • Lung
    • Trachea
    • Chest wall
    • Mediastinum (sternum and surrounding area)

    SURGICAL OPTIONS FOR LUNG CANCER

At Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, we offer robotic surgery options to treat lung cancer. Throughout the entire network we use video-assisted techniques to identify the full extent of your cancer and offer both traditional and minimally invasive surgical techniques for lung surgeries, including:

    • Lobectomy - to remove the entire lobe of your lung that contains cancer while you can function with the remaining four lobes
    • Segmentectomy - to remove a small wedge-shaped piece of lung that contains both the cancer and surrounding healthy tissue
    • Pneumonectomy - when absolutely necessary to remove your entire lung

    RADIATION THERAPY FOR LUNG CANCER

Radiation therapy directs high-energy beams to shrink cancer cells and tumors. We offer options using the Varian Trilogy linear accelerator (LINAC), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), RapidArc, and high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy.

We also use radiofrequency ablation (RFA), a minimally invasive cancer treatment using heat to destroy cancer cells.
