EECP Therapy

  • The Einstein Institute for Heart and Vascular Health offers Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) therapy for patients suffering from coronary artery disease, angina, or congestive heart failure.

    What is Enhanced External Counterpulsation?

EECP is an FDA-approved physical rehabilitative medicine for the treatment of heart disease. It is clinically proven to be as effective for heart health as bypass surgery, angioplasty and stents.

    How EECP works

Blood pressure cuffs are wrapped around a patient's legs. The cuffs, triggered by an EKG, inflate and deflate in sync with your heartbeat. This creates new blood-flow patters to the heart by opening small blood vessels and creating lasting natural bypasses around blocked arteries. In doing so, EECP helps with angina, increased energy and stamina, and returns patients to activities you thought were too stressful and may have given up.
