Living with Diabetes
Diabetes Education Classes, Living with Diabetes
Living with Diabetes, an educational program for people with diabetes, is offered at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and Germantown Community Health Services. Accredited by the American Diabetes Association, the program covers the basics of diabetes, monitoring, hyper and hypoglycemia, nutrition, exercise, foot and skin care, preventing complications, stress, medications, lifestyle changes and community resources. Certified diabetes educators lead the series of four classes which begins with an individual pre-assessment.
A physician referral is required and most health insurance companies cover the cost of the program. Call 215-456-6839 for class dates and to register.
