Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia is a leading Level 1 Regional Resource Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Philadelphia. The Emergency Department is the busiest in the city, treating over 95,000 patients annually. The Center's emergency department provides evidenced-based, cutting edge care to a wide variety of patients with a broad spectrum of illness and injury including medical, surgical and trauma related conditions.
The renovated and expanded Emergency Department is one of the largest and most sophisticated in the region utilizing state-of-the-art systems to assist physicians and enhance patient care, including; digital radiography, an ED-based CT scanner, the Vocera Phone System, emergency bedside ultrasound, automatic tracking of patients, staff, and assets, point of care testing, electronic medical records and many others. While our Department treats a primarily urban patient population, it operates like a well-run community hospital and achieves published patient satisfaction scores and quality indicators at the top of our peer group.
Our Emergency Medicine Research Program utilizes research associates who are present in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is actively engaged in ongoing research and clinical trials to help develop and identify new therapies, medications and treatment techniques.
