The Division of Medical Toxicology in the Department of Emergency Medicine is devoted to patient care, education and research in the field of medical toxicology.
Medical toxicologists treat injuries and poisonings resulting from exposure to chemicals and biological agents, including legal and illegal drugs and environmental hazards.
Established in 2006, our department is rapidly progressing to one of the largest medical toxicology centers on the East Coast. As consultants to the Poison Control Center, our division is well-versed in telemedicine. We also offer a 24-hour consulting service to the emergency department and inpatient care.
Outpatient visits are available in the Einstein Medical Toxicology Outpatient Clinic upon request at 215-456-8959.
Our team of doctors evaluates and treats patients in consultation at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park, Montgomery Hospital Medical Center, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Conditions treated include
- Intentional and unintentional poisonings of agents
- Toxicity from chemical and environmental hazards
