Admission to the School
The Admissions Committee, representing the faculty of the School of Radiologic Technology, selects the applicants who satisfy
the admission criteria and demonstrate the capability of completing the program and becoming registered technologists. All
applicants are considered for admission without regard to age, race, creed, color, religion, sex, disability, or national
origin.
Minimum Requirements for Admission
A. High School Diploma or Equivalent
B. Transcript(s)
1. An official high school transcript or its equivalent must be submitted.
2. Applicants who have attended any institutions of higher education must also submit official transcripts from those institutions.
3. Foreign grades must be converted by a recognized service.
C. Courses
1. Required
a. Mathematics – 2 years in high school or 2 semesters in college (algebra required)
b. High school level science - Biology preferred
2. Required - Post secondary general education, 15 credit hours of general education course work
a. Mathematical/Logical Reasoning (required)
b. Written/Oral Communication (required)
c. Arts and Humanities
d. Information Systems
e. Social/Behavioral Sciences
f. Natural Sciences
D. Three Letters of Recommendation
1. High school instructors, high school counselors, members of the clergy, or employers can write the letters.
2. Personal references by family members are NOT acceptable.
E. Personal Interview
Students who meet the minimum requirements may be called in for interviews. Interviews are only granted to those applicants
who are at the top of the applicant pool.
F. Pre-entrance Testing
All potential students will be required to take a pre-entrance test.
G. Health Form
A pre-entrance medical examination must be obtained in order to protect patients and other AEMC personnel. Acceptance into
the program is contingent upon this examination.
H. Shadow Day
Students are required to spend a time observing the workings of the Radiology department prior to acceptance to the program.
This is done the same day as the personal interview.
