Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Discuss the importance of good hand hygiene in daily patient care
  2. List barriers to good hand hygiene and ways to overcome them
  3. List the latest CDC hand hygiene guidelines
  4. Incorporate better hand hygiene practices into daily patient care with the goal of reducing the incidence of nosocomial infections

The educational need for this program was determined by informal survey and consensus of the consultants for this online course.

Designation of Credit

The Albert Einstein Healthcare Network designates this continuing medical education activity for a maximum of one hour in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each person should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

The estimated time to complete the online readings and exam is one hour. To receive credit, the completion of a short multiple-choice exam at the end of the readings is necessary. After you have completed your exam you will be mailed a completion credit.
