    Medical and dental insurance coverage

    Einstein Medical Center provides medical and dental insurance coverage for residents and their dependents. Domestic partner health insurance benefits also are available. Residents may choose from a variety of health plan options offered by the medical center. Dental insurance covers routine preventive and restorative care.     Prescription Plan

    The prescription plan is administered through Express Scripts Inc., (ESI) allows you to fill your prescriptions at any participating retail pharmacy, Einstein Employee Pharmacy or mail order. You pay a co-pay and the plan pays the balance. Filling your prescriptions at Einstein Employee Pharmacy (EEP) lets you take advantage of lower co-pays.

    Vision Coverage

    You can purchase vision care coverage through Vision Benefits of America (VBA) for you and your family. The plan provides annual exams and eye wear through VBA’s network of over 10,000 optometrists, ophthalmologists and retail locations nationwide.

    Disability and Life Insurance

    Residents receive group life insurance (one times annual salary to a maximum of $20,000) and long-term disability insurance. Residents also are eligible to participate in the medical center's tax-sheltered annuity, credit union and flexible spending account programs to set aside pre-tax dollars for childcare and non-reimbursable medical expenses. 

    Malpractice liability insurance

    Provided for all assigned and approved residency program activities.  

    Four weeks annual paid vacation and personal time

    Residents need to maintain a healthy balance in their lives. Vacation and personal time is provided to help ease the pressures and rigors of resident life and to insure dedicated time to spend time with family and friends.  

    Sick Time

    House Staff accrues twelve (12) sick days per year earned on a bi-weekly basis.

    Free Parking

    Residents are provided assigned parking in one of our secure parking garages for the length of their training program. 

    On call meals and accommodations

    Private rooms and meal allowances are provided for all residents on call. 

    Recreational lounge

    Provided exclusively for house staff. The lounge is equipped with comfortable furniture, kitchen area including refrigerators and microwave, large screen TV, pool and ping-pong tables, and a computer workroom.

    Employee Assistance Program

    Einstein makes Carebridge services available to you and your immediate family at no charge. Carebridge Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Work-Life Services will provide confidential consultations to help you successfully manage life’s challenges. Carebridge counselors will listen to your concerns, help identify the source of your problems, and work with you to bring about practical solutions as quickly as possible.

    Scholarly Activity Travel Support

    House Staff members enrolled in accredited programs are eligible for up to $1500 per occurrence to present scholarly activity.

    Posters

    House Staff members enrolled in accredited programs are eligible to have accepted posters printed at no cost for presentation at national/society meetings.

    Flexible Spending Account

    Einstein gives you the opportunity to save on your taxes by offering flexible spending accounts. You can set aside a portion of your pay on a before-tax basis to pay two (2) types of expenses – medical expenses not covered by your insurance and/or dependent care expenses for your child(ren) or a dependent adult while you and your spouse both work.

    Embroidered Lab Coats

    House Staff members are issued three lab coats upon commencement of training and may receive replacement coats in the following years.

    Resident Recognition Week

    Einstein Healthcare Network established Resident Recognition Week to recognize and thank our resident physicians for their hard work and dedication. Each year Einstein hosts special events throughout the week to appreciate our house Staff.

    Training License Fees

    Pennsylvania State law mandates that residents and fellows enrolled in a training program obtain a state medical training license. Einstein pays all initial training license and renewal training license fees.

    Notary Public

    Notary services are available on premises for house Staff, free of charge.
