Hepatology - Curriculum
Fellow spends 9-10 months on the hepatology consult in-patient service conducting history and physical examination and management of acute and chronic inpatient liver diseases.
Fellows spend two months conducting clinical research entering patients into clinical trials, obtaining informed consent and assisting the Division in preparing papers for publication.
During the second half of the academic year the hepatology fellow will attend the outpatient ambulatory clinic one half-day each week.
The fellow will be responsible for up to two clinical research studies and is expected to submit for publication at least one manuscript per year and one abstract per year.
The Hepatology fellow will have the opportunity to observe at least one liver harvest and transplant during his/her tenure.
