Pharmacy - Curriculum
Rotations
The resident will actively participate and gain experience in the following areas (core rotations):
- Cardiology
- Critical Care
- Infectious Diseases
- Internal Medicine
- Pharmacy Administration
- Pharmacy Practice
The resident will also gain experience in direct patient care by participating in required year-long longitudinal rotations:
- Immunodeficiency Clinic (IDC)
- Outpatient Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Treatment Program
In addition, residents will gain experience in (list not all-inclusive):
- Ambulatory Care
- Drug Information
- Emergency Care
- Geriatrics
- Interdepartmental activities and quality assessment and improvement
- Lecture, conferences, seminars
- Neonatology
- Pain management
- Pharmacokinetics
- Psychiatry
- Nephrology
- Oncology
- Transplant Medicine
Other rotations may be arranged or created, within the scope of practice existing in the institution, to meet each resident's needs and interests. Each resident will gain experience in planning, designing, and performing various projects throughout each rotation. The resident will be required to complete at least one major research project, which will be presented at the local, state, or national level. Each year, the residents present their year-long research projects at the Eastern States Conference for Pharmacy Preceptors and Residents.
