Peripheral Arterial Disease
Peripheral arterial disease occurs when the arteries that supply blood to your extremities (your feet, legs and arms) or major organs (your brain, kidneys or intestine) harden and narrow. This process, known as atherosclerosis, is a gradual buildup of plaque in blood vessels.
