A member of our team will call you back within one business day.
Your child will be cared for by a surgical team. This team will include a surgeon, one or more nurses, and an anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist.
There are so many people at the hospital! Sam sees his nurse and his doctor. He also meets a sleep doctor. The doctors and nurses look a little silly because they are wearing hats, gloves, and masks. They all want to help Sam feel better.
Soon Sam gets on a special bed with wheels. Sam has stickers on his chest. He also has a soft clip on his finger. These things will help the doctors and nurses take care of Sam.
Before going to surgery, your child may be given a mild sedative to help him or her relax. Monitors will be placed on your child’s body to show vital signs. These include blood pressure, breathing rate, and heart rate. You will be able to stay in the waiting room during the operation. The doctor will speak with you when the operation is over. A nurse will let you know when you can see your child.
