Emergency Department The Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day and is equipped to handle a diverse mix of emergency conditions. Staff by board-certified Einstein emergency medicine physicians, highly skilled emergency nurses and key specialists on call, our Emergency Department is committed to providing the highest quality and most time-efficient emergency care to the patients we treat.
Surgery Einstein Healthcare Network provides a broad spectrum of both inpatient and outpatient surgical services at Elkins Park. Our operating rooms house advanced surgical equipment, which is utilized by our highly skilled surgeons and our expert surgical support staff.

The department is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some evening hours are available on an as-needed basis. In many cases, there is no wait, with next day appointments available. To schedule an appointment or exam, please call 215-663-6200.
Laboratory Services The laboratory offers a wide range of testing procedures in a number of clinical areas, including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, urinalysis and a blood bank. The lab is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Outpatient and Pre-Admission Testing Lab is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointment is necessary for outpatient laboratory procedures. For pre-admission testing, please call the Pre-Admissions office at 215-663-6027 to schedule an appointment.
Specialty Programs
Cardiac Services Our board-certified cardiologists and skilled clinical and nursing staff provide diagnosis and treatment for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions.
Orthopedics Einstein’s team of renowned orthopedic specialists offer consultation and treatment for a wide range of orthopedic conditions, such as back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint replacement, sports-related injuries and debilitating arthritis at the Elkins park campus.
Gastrointestinal Our gastrointestinal specialists provide a depth of experience and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon/rectum).

Visitors with colds, coughs, or other illnesses are asked to remain at home until they are well.

Visitor Passes and Number of Visitors
We ask that visitors get a visitor pass at the information desk in the main lobby. Please have passes visible and available
for presentation upon request.
Due to space limitations and our concern for everyone’s safety and privacy,we ask that there only
be two visitors present at the bedside at a time.
Code of Conduct:
All visitors must conduct themselves appropriately at all times, respect hospital staff, and policy. Failure to follow these
requests may result in visitors being asked to leave.
Waiting Areas
General visitor lounge areas are located in the main lobby.The cafeteria, located on the main floor, is also available to
visitors 24 hours a day.
Children
We ask that the patient and family speak with the nurse to determine if it would be possible for a child, under the age of
12, to visit.The nursing staff will work with patients and family members to review the patient’s current condition and whether
it might pose any concerns to a child.The staff will also work with the patient and family to determine a timeframe and length
for the visit. Children given permission to visit must be supervised by a responsible adult, who is not the patient, at all
times.
General Visitation
Hours: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
For patient privacy and dignity, there may be times during medical procedures, nursing procedures, or therapy sessions when
visitors will be asked to wait in a lounge or lobby area.
