Meet the Program Director

Glenn Eiger, MD

I would like to personally welcome you to Albert Einstein Medical Center's Internal Medicine Residency Program web site. The goal of our residency program is to provide outstanding training in internal medicine. Individuals who choose to train at Einstein Medical Center are provided excellent clinical training experiences and educational opportunities within a warm, friendly environment.

The Department of Medicine sponsors a host of postgraduate training programs including categorical programs in both internal medicine and medicine-pediatrics, one-year programs in preliminary medicine and transitional year and subspecialty fellowship training in many of the subspecialties of internal medicine including cardiology, gastroenterology, geriatrics, interventional cardiology, nephrology, pulmonary/critical care and rheumatology.

Whether you are interested in primary clinical practice or a career in academic medicine you will be well prepared after the rigors of training at Einstein Medical Center. The Department of Medicine has a long history of providing a well-balanced curriculum that prepares residents for careers in general internal medicine or subspecialty fellowships. Our program offers outstanding core rotations in general internal medicine and the subspecialties. Throughout the training program, the principles and practice of evidence-based medicine are emphasized and the most up-to-date information technology is made available at the bedside. Our commitment to resident participation in scholarly activity is evidenced by the dedicated research rotations included in the three-year curriculum. We are proud of our extraordinary conference series (morning report, noon conference, summer conference, grand rounds, firm conferences) and board review course that is designed specifically for our residents.

I would encourage you to utilize this web site to learn more about our programs. As you navigate your way through our site, please feel free to call or e-mail me with any questions you might have. Information on how to contact our program may be found in the application information section. I look forward to the possibility of our working together and to helping you lay the foundation for a highly successful career in internal medicine. Best of luck as you begin your search for postgraduate training.
