Elective rotations offer additional opportunities for residents to explore areas of special interest, broaden their horizons
and meet their individual learning objectives.
Internal medicine subspecialty services provide residents with valuable experience as consultants, and most subspecialties
include substantial experience in the outpatient setting. Interdisciplinary experiences are offered in a number of areas including
women’s health, HIV, medical aspects of transplantation, musculoskeletal disorders, palliative care and medical ethics. Elective
rotations in pediatrics, gynecology, psychiatry, orthopaedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation and general surgery offer
opportunities for residents to master the cognitive and procedural skills essential for success in primary care practice.
Einstein Medical Center residents work closely with their advisors and firm chiefs to plan their elective rotations.
