The core curriculum of the Medicine-Pediatrics program is covered in lunchtime conferences, which encompass general internal
medicine and its subspecialties, general pediatrics and its subspecialties and their related specialties.
Medicine-Pediatrics residents are encouraged to attend Pediatric Grand Rounds and Medical Grand Rounds each week. Journal
club, morbidity and mortality review, medical ethics and continuous quality improvement conferences are held regularly in
both departments. In addition, a Medicine-Pediatrics journal club is held monthly with the Med-Peds residents, the Med-Peds Program
Director and other faculty from both departments.
Medicine-Pediatrics residents are also invited to attend regional and national meetings of the American College of Physicians,
the American Academy of Pediatrics, the National Med-Peds Residents Association, and the subspecialty societies. The Medicine-Pediatrics
program offers time off and a conference stipend to encourage residents to take advantage of these opportunities. All Med-Peds
residents are given membership to the American Academy of Pediatrics for the duration of their residency.
