The three year pulmonary and critical care fellowship program consists of rotations in the medical intensive care unit, pulmonary
consultation service, pulmonary function laboratory and sleep laboratory. The first year is devoted to clinical rotations.
Nine months of the second and third year are devoted to clinical research pursuits. One-month rotations in lung transplantation
and interventional bronchoscopy are available by arrangement with the University of Pennsylvania.
* Electives include, but are not limited to: neurology/neuro-surgery; cardiothoracic surgery; transplant lung/liver; nephrology-dialysis;
nutrition; interventional bronchoscopy; and burn unit.
Pulmonary fellows are expected to be on call every fourth night and every fourth weekend. Call is taken from home. Attending
backup is available each night. On weekends, joint rounds are made with the attending and medical house staff. There is no
