Adolescents' Programs

  • At Belmont, we recognize the need for adolescent’s high-quality psychiatric care. The Adolescent Inpatient Program at Belmont Behavioral Health for teens aged 13 to 17, offers quality behavioral health care in a confidential and caring environment. The adolescent unit consists of spacious rooms, lounges with TVs and activity rooms, which include up-to-date video gaming equipment. With individualized instruction from a certified teacher, a classroom with computer access and a large reading library, we provide our adolescents the opportunity to maintain and increase their academic skills

Our caring, expert staff provides specialized treatment to adolescents with a wide range of psychiatric difficulties, including:

    • Depression and suicidality
    • Anxiety disorder
    • Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder
    • Impulse control disorders
    • Bipolar disorder
    • Psychotic disorders
    • Post traumatic stress disorders

Since many teenagers' problems are an outgrowth of family issues, we work with parents, siblings, grandparents and other family members to develop effective behavior solutions. We believe that families are essential to treatment, and every effort is made to involve our teens’ families in the treatment process. The program is strongly committed to preparing the entire family for discharge and community based follow-up care.

At Belmont we work with schools, outpatient treatment centers and therapists, community agencies and organizations to develop behavioral goals and discharge plans that will result in coordinated, integrated aftercare.

Services offered in the inpatient adolescent program include:

    • Individual therapy
    • Group therapies
    • Family therapy
    • Creative arts therapy
    • Recreation therapy
    • Music therapy
    • Academic instruction
