Belmont Behavioral Health's program recognizes the complexity of each patient's eating disorder and develops individualized treatment plans to address each person's needs. We conduct a comprehensive evaluation to assess patient's psychological, medical and social functioning.
Once a person has entered one of our programs, our multidisciplinary treatment team monitors each patient's progress toward recovery. We encourage all patients to take an active role in their own treatment by collaborating with the treatment team. Families are encouraged to actively participate in the treatment process as well.
Inpatient care
The Eating Disorders Inpatient Program at Belmont Behavioral Health includes daily meetings with a psychiatrist, individual therapy, art therapy and other group - and family - therapy sessions. Patients are closely monitored and treated medically until they are able to progress to self-responsibility and control.
The program includes supervised meals and snacks and ongoing nutrition therapy. Adolescents in school continue with their studies through the Adolescent School Program. All eating disorder patients are housed and treated in a separate unit located within Belmont Behavioral Health. This unit offers semi-private rooms, a comfortable lounge and an adjoining kitchenette.
Day Treatment Program
Belmont Behavioral Health offers two Day Treatment Program tracks including the Partial Hospitalization Program and the Intensive Outpatient Program. Both tracks allow the patient to return home in the evening.
Services provided include:
- Weekly meetings with the treatment team to discuss treatment planning and aftercare
- Daily meal and menu planning support groups
- Supervised meals
- Full range of therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
- Psychiatric consultation and nutritional counseling
