Steven Berk, Esq., with daughter Lacey Rachel Berk and son Aidan Jarrett Berk in front of the Berk Family Balcony recognition plaque.
Family and friends of Steven Berk, Esq., Einstein Healthcare Network’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, joined together recently to celebrate the official naming of the Berk Family Balcony located in the Atrium of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. The Berk Family Balcony is named in honor of Steven Berk’s children -- daughter Lacey Rachel Berk, age 15, and son Aidan Jarrett Berk, age 13.
Designed as a warm and inviting space which looks out on the bucolic scenery of the Norristown Farm Park across the way, the Berk Family Balcony is a place where patients and families can come to relax and relieve stress.
The Berk family has a long and distinguished history with Einstein Healthcare Network and Belmont Behavioral Health. Steven Berk’s grandfather was one of the original founders of what is today known as Belmont Behavioral Health, part of Einstein Healthcare Network. Gabriel and Phyllis Berk, Steven Berk’s parents, continued the tradition of commitment to Belmont, and Steven Berk has been an ardent supporter of Belmont and Einstein for more than 40 years. Lacey and Aidan Berk are continuing the family legacy started by their great-grandfather. They both spent a lot of time with their father as he participated in the planning and construction of Einstein Medical Center Montgomery which opened in 2012, so they have grown up just as the hospital grew from concept to reality.
Aidan recently became a Bar Mitzvah and chose to raise money in support of Einstein Montgomery’s Walk Through the Park as his Bar Mitzvah Project, to improve the care offered to cancer patients at the hospital. Through his efforts, Aidan is continuing a family tradition of helping others.
