Duffy looks forward to welcoming patients to new Einstein Medical Center Montgomery

Upper Gwynedd resident Beth Duffy didn’t plan to become a hospital executive.
She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s in social work, but it was during a recession and jobs in that field were scarce. She decided to continue her education with a master’s degree “in something you can get a job in.”
Duffy earned an MBA with a focus in health administration from Temple University, then joined the Einstein Healthcare Network 28 years ago. From her first job, as a unit manager, to her current position as a vice president of health care services, she learned the hospital business from the ground up. Soon Duffy, 52, will be the chief operating officer of the new, 146-bed hospital, Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norriton, which is set to open in September. She’s overseen the new hospital every step of the way.
“These last two years have really been a wonderful experience,” Duffy said. “I’ve learned a tremendous amount.”
