  • Daniel W. Munsey Joins Belmont Behavioral Health as Assistant Vice President

    Daniel W. Munsey, RN, BSN, has joined Belmont Behavioral Health as an Assistant Vice President.  In this role, Munsey is responsible for Belmont Behavioral Health’s Access Center, a 24-hour admissions, assessment and referral service; Case Management and Social Services; the Crisis Response Center for adults, adolescents and children; and Rehabilitative Services.  Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment is the anchor hospital for Belmont Behavioral Health, and at this location Munsey will oversee the Eating and Mood Disorders Programs and the Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) service.

    With 15 years of nursing administration experience, Munsey has managed staffing budgets and clinical fulltime employees; developed multidisciplinary teams and nursing programs; and has been accountable for Joint Commission accreditation, Center for Medicaid Medicare Services (CMS) standards, and state regulatory agencies.  

    Prior to joining Belmont Behavioral Health, Munsey was Director of Behavioral Health at West Virginia University Berkeley Medical Center and Diamond Health Care in Martinsburg, West Virginia where he managed all aspects of the behavioral health department, recruited and hired core program staff, developed a physician practice model and achieved a reorganization of a patient/family centered care delivery model. Before that, he served as Director of Nursing at the Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center in Bangor, Maine.  

    Munsey earned his bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, and is a candidate for a master’s degree in Nursing (in 2014).
