Einstein Healthcare Network opened a satellite liver center in Allentown, Pa., to bring treatment for advanced and decompensated liver disease to the Lehigh Valley.
“The opening of an office closer to where the patients live will allow patients to seek tertiary care in their own back yard,” said Dr. Victor Araya, chairman of Philadelphia-based Einstein’s hepatology division and medical director of its liver transplant program.
Among the patients to be served by the Allentown center will those with cirrhosis, liver cancer or difficult-to-treat hepatitis
The Einstein Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation was established at 325 N. 5th St. in Allentown.
