PHILADELPHIA, July 23, 2012 - Einstein Healthcare Network, a leading healthcare provider in the Philadelphia region, announced new board appointments for fiscal year 2013.
Steven Berk, Esq., of Ardmore, Pa., was elected Chairman of Einstein Healthcare Network's Board of Trustees, the governing body of the organization, and Einstein Healthcare Network's Board of Overseers which serves in an advisory and fundraising capacity. Mr. Berk is a partner with the law firm of Segal, Berk, Gaines & Liss in Philadelphia. He joined the Einstein board in 1983, at the time that the Philadelphia Psychiatric Center (PPC), now Belmont Behavioral Health, joined Einstein. He is the third generation of the Berk family involved with PPC/Belmont. Mr. Berk has served in many leadership positions including Chairman of the Belmont Board; Chairman of the Finance Committee and Board Treasurer; Member and Vice Chairman of the Einstein Healthcare Network Board of Trustees; and most recently, as Chairman of the Healthcare Services Board of Trustees.
Bruce W. Koch of Philadelphia, was elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Einstein Healthcare Services. Mr. Koch is the Chief Financial Officer of the Starr Restaurant Organization. He has been a member of the Einstein Board since 1999 and has served in several leadership positions, including Chairman of the Quality Committee; member of the Einstein Healthcare Network Board of Trustees, and most recently, as Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Clifford D. Schlesinger of Bryn Mawr, Pa., was elected Chairman of the Einstein Physician Services Board of Trustees. He is a Managing Director in the Strategic Wealth Advisory Team of Goldman Sachs. Mr. Schlesinger was also elected to the Einstein Healthcare Network Board of Trustees and serves on the Development Committee.
The following three new members were elected to Einstein Healthcare Network's Board of Overseers:
Arthur Ersner, MD, of Newtown Square, Pa., is an internist and member of Norristown Internal Medicine Associates, and is the newly-elected President of the Montgomery Hospital Medical Staff.
David Jaspan, DO, of Philadelphia, is Vice Chairman of the Departmentof Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of Gynecological Surgery at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, and the newly-elected President of the Medical Staff of Einstein Medical Center (which includes Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, Einstein Medical Center Elkins Park, Willowcrest, and MossRehab).
Farah M. Jimenez of Philadelphia, is the Chief Executive Officer of People's Emergency Center, a nonprofit social services and community development agency located in West Philadelphia serving homeless women and children.
