Einstein's Breast Health Program and Physicians Earn Distinguished Awards
The Breast Health Program at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia and its physicians earned special recognition from two leading breast health organizations, Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia and Living Beyond Breast Cancer.
Einstein’s Breast Health Program will be presented with a Beacon of Hope award by Susan G. Komen For the Cure at their Pink Tie Masquerade Ball on Saturday, October 27, 2012. Susan Bernini, Chief Operating Officer for Einstein Healthcare Network, will accept the award which was created to recognize a healthcare partner who has gone far beyond the ordinary to advance the Komen mission.
In conjunction with the Beacon of Hope Award, Susan G. Komen Philadelphia will present the Light of Life Award to Lisa K. Jablon, MD, FACS, Director of Einstein’s Breast Program, and to Robert G. Somers, MD, FACS, founder of the Breast Health Program at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia. The Light of Life Award recognizes an individual from the honored healthcare organization for their efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
Debra Copit, MD, Director of Breast Imaging at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia, will be honored by Living Beyond Breast Cancer with the Founder’s Award – the organization’s highest honor, at their November 10, 2012 gala. The Founder’s Award recognizes an individual or a group’s outstanding professional contributions to improve the lives of women affected by breast cancer. The award has only been given out four times in the last twenty years.
