As a breast surgeon, Jennifer Simmons is keenly aware that “people trust me with their life during their worst of times.” Dr. Simmons, the newly appointed Chief of Breast Surgery at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery, said she still chokes up “when people thank me for saving their life.” “I revel in the fact that I’ve been given the privilege to practice medicine and surgery, and am thrilled to enhance Einstein’s Regional Breast Health Program as we expand in Montgomery County,” said Dr. Simmons, who also is Co-Director of Women’s Health and Wellness Center at Einstein Montgomery. “Our goal for women is to lessen the fear and anxiety associated with breast disease while creating the best possible experience for them on their road to wellness.”Simmons, former Director of the Breast Health Program at Aria Health Care System in Philadelphia, was named a 2012 top doc by Philadelphia Magazine. While at Aria, Dr. Simmons initiated and expanded numerous programs to improve and expedite diagnosis and treatment and will be vigilant about doing so here at Einstein. “My goal for the breast program here at Einstein Montgomery is to evaluate, educate, and treat the patients in a seamless, comprehensive, but expedited manner so as to get them back to wellness as rapidly and painlessly as we can.Dr. Simmons is thrilled to be expanding the reach of Einstein’s award-winning Breast Health Program, to Montgomery County. The Philadelphia program is designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology. The program’s nationally renowned cancer specialists conduct cutting-edge research so as to develop and offer promising new therapies for patients. Dr. Simmons attended Temple University, the University of Pennsylvania and Jefferson Medical College. She was Chief Resident in General Surgery at Albany Medical Center and completed the first breast fellowship in Philadelphia as the inaugural Fellow in breast disease sponsored by The Breast Health Institute of Philadelphia. She’s active in breast cancer philanthropy, serves on the board of Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and is an active member of the medical advisory board for the Susan G.
