PHILADELPHIA (June 8, 2012) – MossRehab, the largest provider of inpatient and outpatient physical and cognitive rehabilitation in the Philadelphia region (and part of the Einstein Healthcare Network), is opening a 12-bed satellite inpatient facility in Doylestown Hospital, Wednesday, June 27.
The new facility MossRehab’s 5th will treat those in Bucks County with complications from strokes, bilateral joint replacement and medical conditions that require inpatient rehabilitation care. The new facility is expected to serve approximately 200 patients in its first year. Outpatient rehabilitation services will continue to be provided by Doylestown Hospital.
“This is an opportunity to provide continuity of care for patients with physical disabilities whose acute care physicians are at Doylestown,” said Thomas Smith, assistant vice president of MossRehab. “We anticipate an enhanced quality of care as a result of the collaboration, highlighting the expertise of both Doylestown and MossRehab.
Patients receiving rehabilitation therapy at the new MossRehab facility which will occupy a renovated section of Doylestown Hospital can expect care to be delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physiatrists, occupational, physical and speech therapists, social workers and neuropsychologists adhering to the most up-to-date rehabilitation guidelines and keeping with MossRehab’s renowned standards. MossRehab is a U.S.News & World Report Top Ten Rehabilitation Hospital, most recently being ranked 9th in the country and first in the state of PA.
