The 26th annual Small Miracles Golf Tournament sponsored by Einstein Healthcare Network raised more than $300,000 to enhance support and education for parents who have a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Einstein Medical Center Philadelphia or Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. The funds raised will help these parents make a successful transition from hospital to home with their baby.
Specifically, the funds will be used for NICU upgrades including implementation of NICU Knowledge System, a web-based educational program that will be available for use on “Knowledge stations” set up in the NICU and other areas. Additional enhancements include installation of the NICView system, a web-enabled camera that allows parents to view their baby in the NICU via any type of web-enabled device like a smart phone, iPad or PC.
To date, Einstein’s Small Miracles Golf Tournament has raised more than $4 million, helping to make a difference in the communities the network serves. This year’s tournament had 240 golfers and was held at Philadelphia Cricket Club and Sunnybrook Golf Club, both in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
