Team Einstein won the American College of Physicians’ (ACP) Pennsylvania State Medical Jeopardy Championship for a third year in a row. The competing teams are made up of medical residents from the Department of Medicine at each participating hospital.
In a round-robin format, Team Einstein, representing the Southeastern Pennsylvania ACP region, first played against and defeated Reading Hospital, representing the Eastern Pennsylvania ACP Region. Reading Hospital then played Allegheny Hospital representing the Western Pennsylvania ACP region in the second game, and won. The final game was Team Einstein versus Allegheny and Einstein was the victor.
With this victory, Team Einstein advances to the National American College of Physicians’Tournament at the ACP Annual Meeting in Orlando in April 2014. Team Einstein returns to the national finals for the third year in a row where they are the two-time defending national champions. In total, Team Einstein has won the national championship five times, more than any other residency program in the country. The statewide championship was held on the campus of the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.
