Application to Albert Einstein Medical Center's (AEMC) Ob/Gyn residency program is accepted through the Electronic Residency
Application Service (ERAS) hosted by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). For US medical students, ERAS may be accessed via your medical
school Dean's Office. For international medical graduates, ERAS may be accessed via the Educational Commission for Foreign
Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
Osteopathic Students may apply to the AEMC Ob/Gyn residency program via Einstein's AOA Traditional Rotating Internship and
participate in the AOA Match or may elect to apply to the categorical Ob/Gyn residency program and participate in the National
Residency Matching Program (NRMP). DO candidates interested in receiving AOA credit for the internship year concurrent with full PGY-1 credit for the categorical
Ob/Gyn residency program, should discuss this in detail with the Program Director during your interview day and plan to participate
in the AOA Match in lieu of the NRMP.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many positions are being offered by your program this year?
There are currently four (4) PGY-1 positions for the upcoming Match.
What is the deadline for applying to Einstein's Ob/Gyn residency program?
The deadline for applications is the Friday of the first week in January of the Match year.
How do I apply?
All applications must be submitted through ERAS. For osteopathic applicants, you may apply via ERAS to the AEMC traditional
rotating internship program.
When are interviews scheduled?
Interviews are held starting in October and run through the end of January. Applicants interested in a "second look" after
formal interview day, will be accommodated whenever possible upon request.
Do you accept applications from international medical graduates (IMGs)?
Yes, applications are accepted from IMGs. ECFMG certification and USMLE 1, USMLE 2 CK and CS must be obtained by the end
of January of the Match year. All required exams must have a PASSING score, but no minimum score is required for application.
Prior US clinical experience is not essential. There is no requirement on the time from medical school graduation to application.
AEMC sponsors both H-1B clinical and J-1 visas; all related fees are the responsibility of the incoming resident (including
the anti-fraud fee). If an applicant wishes to enter the Ob/Gyn program on an H-1B clinical visa, completion and passage of
USMLE 3 also is required prior to January of the Match year.
Do you offer pre-Match positions?
The Ob/Gyn residency program prefers to fill all of its spots through the NRMP (or AOA) match. All fourth year US medical
students must participate in a national matching program according to NRMP and AOA guidelines.
Do you offer observerships?
Due to the busy nature of our services and teams, we do not offer observerships.
